And always keep in mind, hotels in Tokyo are very, very small compared to many other places. The typical room is around 15sqm. There is not much space to leave your suitcases open. But let’s be honest, in a city like Tokyo nobody will spend much time in the hotel room, except when it comes to sleeping! So here’s a guide to help you make the perfect decision.

• Shibuya and Shinjuku: Ideal for first-time visitors, these areas are bustling with activity, shopping, dining, and nightlife. Shinjuku is also a major transportation hub, making it easy to explore the rest of the city.
• Ginza: Perfect for luxury travellers and shopaholics, Ginza is known for its high-end shopping and gourmet dining options.
• Asakusa: For a more traditional experience, Asakusa offers a glimpse into old Tokyo with its temples, shrines, and historic streets.

4. Accessibility

Ensure your hotel is easily accessible by public transportation. Tokyo’s extensive train and subway systems are the best way to get around, so proximity to a station is a huge plus.

A big plus in my opinion is when you stay in an area that has access to the Yamanote line, it’s basically a loop service through Tokyo connecting all important areas and it is also the busiest and most used lines. While in general all trains and subways have an amazing connection I found it very convenient to close to the Yamanote line.
